Respect for each other:  A lot of people do not show respect for their spouses, as if after you're married you don't have to be nice any more.  You must be as respectful to your spouse as with someone you don't know, use good manners and be polite.  Speaking Kindly:  In a face to face the words should be kind, and also out in public you must be positive about your relationship.  You can have constructive discussions without being cruel, when you speak out loud this influences your mind so use care in your choice of words.
WORK ON YOURSELF.  Now many people don't realize that they are letting themselves go and forgetting all about the individual needs that they have.  Taking time to work on and improve yourself, spiritually, emotionally, and physically can really make positive improvements in your relationship as well as in your life.  KNOW WHEN TO GIVE IN.  It is okay to stand your ground, but be sure to know when to give up the battle.  It is okay to let your spouse win an argument or to bend to meet their needs.  If you need to be right all the time, you may just find that you need to either work on that or be alone.  Remember for every time you say you are right, you are saying that your spouse is wrong.  
Temptation issues - This is a destructive path, so try to stay away from situations and people who may influence you to be unfaithful.  Don't spend alone time with the opposite sex, if it's necessary then include your partner as it shows your commitment.  Lying - Marriages have to have trust, so there can not even be small untruths told to your spouse.  You have to be mature and approach the truth always, even if it's painful, that way the lies don't become a part of communication.
